The recipes used today to create these drinks were developed back in 1948 in Uggiano la Chiesa, a town of about 4,000 inhabitants in the province of Lecce. They were created by the town's renowned pharmacist Antonio Camboa, better known to everyone as Uccio. Now, in the same pharmacy, his son Vanni and grandchildren Carola and Alessandro continue the tradition, using the same old recipes to create unique and timeless products. The elixir is made in the family pharmacy and is based on honey from wild flowers growing in Italy, ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) and lemon (Citrus limon (L.) Osbeck). The drink contains ginger essential oil, which has digestive properties and is obtained by distilling the plant's rhizomes. Ingredients: alcohol, water, honey, plant extracts. Shake before use.
